A little further down south from Cavite is another beautiful, yet often overlooked gem of a destination — Quezon Province. Surrounded by rich culture with houses and churches with strong influences from the Spanish era like the Lucban Church which was first built in 1590 and pristine, and untouched beaches such as the Salibungot Beach and Kanaway Beach. Tagaytay, Classic Filipino Getaway

Going to Tagaytay is probably one of the favorite choices when planning a quick road trip. The cold Tagaytay air is just one of the things people go there for. Tagaytay is the perfect place for hanging out with friends and spending time with your loved ones. From going to the highest peak in the Peoples Park in the Sky, or take photos of the Taal Volcano from the Tagaytay Picnic Grove. Let’s not forget about all the restaurants you’ll see from when you start your ascent up to, essentially, wherever you go. 30 Minute Vacation – Rizal

Being so close to the city, Rizal is one of the most underrated destinations in the Philippines for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle that is Metro Manila. Being easily accessible to the city is easily one of the perks of this not-so-hidden gem, but what people easily overlook is that there are quite a few things to do in Rizal to help you scratch your travel itch. Angono, Rizal is rightfully known as the country’s Art Capital not only because it’s the birthplace of National Artists Carlos “Botong” Francisco and Lucio San Pedro but also for some of the most amazing art galleries and museums in the Philippines. And just because of its proximity to the city doesn’t mean you won’t find somewhere to get wet; you can visit the picturesque Daranak Falls and get soaked and get back to the city by sundown!

Northern Escapade – Ilocos Norte

Farther from the other destinations on this list is one of the northern favorites, Ilocos Norte. Being a little farther away from the metropolis (around an 8-hour drive or bus ride – but you can take a plane too!), Ilocos Norte is filled with untapped beauty and hidden gems all around. The province is most famous for the Bangui Windmills and the Pagudpud Beach which is dubbed the Surfing Capital of the North. There are also other sights to visit in the northern province such as the famous Paoay Church or if you’re up for something more adventurous, the Suba Sand Dunes should do just the trick. Ilocos Norte has so many hidden secrets it’ll be like they stole them from the other provinces!

Instagrammable Pangasinan

Cerulean beaches that would do your Insta feed wonders don’t only exist in places like Boracay and Palawan, some of the most pristine beaches can be found in the often overlooked province of Pangasinan. While it is a bit of a drive to the north of the city, it isn’t as far as Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan is still very much worth the gas. The town of Bolinao, Pangasinan boasts the beautiful Patar White Beach and the Rock Formation beach where you can get your Disney on, climb on top of a rock, and sing Part of your World. Because Pangasinan is the place where you can walk, where you can run, where you can stay all day in the sun. Wandering free in the beautiful town of Bolinao.
